About this policy
Edge Micropayments, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("we," "us," or "our"), operates edgemicropayments.com and offers EMPIC. This policy describes personal information handled through this website, business inquiries, walkthrough requests, and payments you make to us through Stripe, where offered. It does not describe every data flow in a customer's deployment of EMPIC; any separate service privacy notice or data processing agreement also applies to that deployment.
1. Information we collect
- Information you provide. Our contact form requests your name, email address, and message. Our walkthrough form also requests your company and primary interest, with an optional description of your current challenge. We receive any additional information you choose to provide in subsequent correspondence.
- Technical information. When your browser requests website pages, fonts, or form services, the providers serving those requests receive your IP address and request information. Depending on the service, this may include browser and device details, requested URLs, referring pages, timestamps, and diagnostic or security logs.
- Payment information, where applicable. If you pay us through Stripe, Stripe collects the payment details you enter, which may include your name, email address, billing address, and card or other payment method information. We may receive transaction identifiers, amounts, payment status, billing details, and limited payment method details such as card brand and last four digits, for billing and support.
The ROI calculator processes the values you enter in your browser. The calculator does not submit those values to us.
Please do not include card numbers, passwords, government identifiers, or other sensitive information in inquiry or walkthrough forms.
2. How we use information
- Respond to inquiries, arrange walkthroughs, and discuss potential business relationships.
- Provide requested services and related customer support.
- Process and reconcile payments, issue refunds, and address billing questions or disputes, where applicable.
- Operate and maintain the website, diagnose problems, and prevent spam, fraud, or misuse.
- Maintain business records, meet legal obligations, and establish or defend legal rights.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to take steps at your request or perform a contract, to pursue legitimate interests in operating and securing our business and responding to inquiries, to meet legal obligations, or with your consent where required.
3. Who receives information and how
Information is disclosed through the following interactions and, where applicable, business processes:
- Website hosting providers. Your browser sends requests to the infrastructure that hosts and delivers this website. Those providers process technical request information to serve pages and support availability and security.
- Formspree. When you submit an inquiry or walkthrough request, your browser sends the form fields directly to Formspree over HTTPS. Formspree processes submissions for delivery to us and may process technical information for service operation and spam prevention. Submissions may be available through its dashboard and delivered through email services used to handle our correspondence. See the Formspree Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts. Your browser requests font styles and files directly from Google's servers when pages load. These requests disclose your IP address and associated browser request information to Google so it can deliver the fonts. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Stripe, where payments are offered. Payment details are submitted to Stripe through its payment interface. Stripe processes payments and may share information with banks, card networks, and other payment partners to complete transactions, prevent fraud, and meet legal requirements. Stripe makes transaction and billing information available to us through its business services. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.
- Advisers and authorities. We may disclose relevant records to professional advisers or public authorities when necessary for legal advice, compliance with valid legal requests, fraud prevention, or protection of rights and safety. Disclosures may take place through correspondence, document transfers, or legally required reporting channels.
- Business transfers or your direction. Relevant information may be disclosed to parties involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets through due diligence and transfer processes, subject to applicable protections. We may also disclose information when you ask or authorize us to do so.
Third-party services have their own privacy practices. Their policies describe how they handle information for their own purposes.
5. Security practices
Our inquiry and walkthrough forms transmit submissions to Formspree using HTTPS, which encrypts information in transit between your browser and the form service. External font requests also use HTTPS. Protection of information held by third-party services is subject to those providers' security practices.
Our website's inquiry and walkthrough forms do not request payment credentials. If we provide a Stripe payment interface, payment credentials are entered through Stripe. The ROI calculator runs locally in your browser without sending its inputs to our servers.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. Avoid sending sensitive information through general correspondence, and contact us if you believe information shared with us has been compromised.
6. Information retention
Retention depends on the nature of the information, the purpose for which it was collected, our relationship with you, and applicable legal requirements. Inquiry and correspondence records may be needed for follow-up and ongoing business relationships; transaction records may be needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution.
You can request deletion using the contact details below. We may need to retain certain information to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Third-party providers may have separate retention obligations under their own policies.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You can browse this website without submitting an inquiry. If you choose not to provide required form information, we may be unable to respond or arrange a walkthrough. You can ask us to stop optional follow-up communications by replying to a message or contacting us.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
To make a request, use our contact form and identify it as a privacy request. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and understand your request. We will respond as required by applicable law. Please do not send identity documents unless we specifically arrange an appropriate way to provide them.
8. International processing
We are a United States corporation. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy laws may differ from those in your location. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, those requirements apply to our handling of your information.
9. Children's privacy
This website is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this website, please contact us so we can address it and arrange deletion where appropriate.
10. Updates and contact
We may update this policy as our services or practices change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
For questions about this policy or our handling of personal information, contact Edge Micropayments, Inc. through our contact form. Please include "Privacy request" in your message so we can route it appropriately.
